Are you an experienced Data Architect with 5+ years of designing scalable solutions and expertise in Azure technologies? If so, this role is for you!

The Data & Analytics team in the IT department is building a Data Lakehouse to meet the analytical needs of the firm. They have defined both Target and Solution Architecture and are seeking to expand the team to increase the number of Data Pipelines that can be delivered in the coming year.

We require a Data Architect who has at least 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer / Data Architect, preferably including experience with implementing a new Data Lakehouse Solution. With a Solution Architect in our team, who is ultimately responsible for the design of the new Data Platform, we’d like the Data Architect to bring their prior experience in developing Data Lakehouse Solutions, including best practice documentation, lessons learned, and implementing Proof of Concepts.

Day to day, you will be creating data models and developing PoCs, with the following areas being examples:

• Data Sharing
• Data Access and Controls
• Data layers in a Data Lake
• Data Pipelines
• Data integrations
• Data Catalogue

To be successful in this role you have:

• Experience in technical roles within cloud and data environments.
• Extensive hands-on experience implementing data-driven solutions using Azure and big data technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of major big data solutions, including Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Azure Event Hub, and Delta Lake.
• Proficiency in data modelling, ETL processes, and data lakehouse concepts.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
• Good understanding of data governance, security, compliance, and privacy regulations.
